Our cattery is small. We have only one male to two females. We stay small on purpose......our kittens are kept in our home. We do not keep separate housing for them or cage them like other catteries. Catteries with more than one male must separate them to keep males from fighting each other for territory. This requires cages or additional housing. We dont need this as we have only one male and two females. We have only two litters per year. Staying small allows our cats to get the constant interaction with us they need to be highly socialized. Our cats roam freely amoung our family.
Our goal is to provide you with kittens that are strong both physically and emotionally. Our kittens are handled daily from birth. We supplement milk with the mother to help with their bond with people and they learn to love and trust us quickly. (Because they are handled multiple times daily, they are accustomed to quickly change from one persons pleasurable affection to the next persons). At a young age they can be passed straight to you and expect that you are just another loving embrace. THIS is how it should be. We want your kitten to have a bond with you that is stronger than its bond with us, stronger even than its bond with its own mother, and the only way to do this is to start young. We give you "kittens that love to be loved". You take it from there!
Our cattery is also distinct in that we do not require any type of background check, contract, or interview. We get to know you, and you get to know us, through the correspondence regarding your kitten. This is enough. We only home our kittens with people who will give them a loving home.
We offer breeding rights on some of our kittens .....We are open minded to those interested in breeding and we will help you in anyway we can with the knowledge we have worked to gain. We are all working together to make this breed better than ever!
We have carefully selected our cats for their lineage and health. They have background genetic testing to ensure strong lines.
We know that everyone has their own opinion about which tests and vaccines are the most important, so we allow you to personally select which you prefer for your own kitten.
In other words....
we respect your right to make your own choices regarding the care of your own cat.
We do not keep a wait list.
We do not ask people to pay more for first choice. Everyone has an equal opportunity with us! We add anyone intrested to our 'announcement list'. Our exact process is to send one announcement upon confirmed pregnancy and expected due date; then text/email everyone upon delivery and let them know the date pictures of the little lions will post. Then everyone has full and equal opportunity to reply with who they like best :)
We register through The International Cat Association (TICA).
We choose this registry because it is recognized and respected world wide, not limited to USA only. Kittens are registered at 4 weeks and are available when fully weaned. They come with a vet certificate of health, vaccinations, negative screen test for FIV/FelV and TICA registration certificate. Our website photos are updated every week to show the newest pictures of your sweet kitten as it grows.
Cooncats are unique. They are the most personable and affectionate cats you will ever encounter. The label 'tempermental' might fit some cat breeds but not this one. These cats are beautiful both inside and out. Their good nature, and ability to relate to people, to perceive emotions and bond with their owner, make them the most popular cats in America.
